CICPA Releases Information on 2013 Top 100 Accounting Firms in China

  The Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CICPA) recently released information on China’s Top 100 accounting firms in 2013. It is the 11th consecutive year for CICPA to release the rankings since 2003.

  Compared with the rankings in 2012, the 2013 ranking table sees 14 newcomers, among which 5 firms were ranked due to their significant increase of revenue and 9 for better performances in other areas.

  5 firms registered revenue of more than 2 billion yuan, an increase of 3 over the previous year; 10 firms registered more than 1 billion yuan, an increase of 4 over the previous year; 14 firms registered more than 500 million yuan, an increase of 7 over the previous year.

  5 out of the Top 100 firms were deducted points from their overall performances due to malpractices in 2012.

  The total revenue of the Top 100 accounting firms, attaining 31.449 billion yuan, takes up 61.63% of the overall revenue of the accountancy profession in China, a 1.97% drop over that of the previous year; while the number of CPAs in the Top 100 firms reached 26,087, taking up 26.33% of the whole profession
